The International Annual Forum for Clinical Governance and Accreditation started its second day on Thursday, May 23rd. The day began with a field visit for all participants to the various departments of the International Cancer Foundation (Warith) to observe the workflow and patient services. Guests were briefed on the services provided by the Nuclear Medicine Department, including the production and distribution of radioactive materials to centers across Iraq.

Following the field visit, the third panel discussion took place at the Warith International Cancer Foundation headquarters, moderated by Dr. Tahssein Al-Attar, a consultant in public health at Warith. Dr. Ghassan Mohammed, Quality Manager at Warith, delivered a lecture on the patient experience journey in the hospitals of Alataba. Additionally, Dr. Ali Omar from the Arab Republic of Egypt presented a lecture on service quality and management systems. The session concluded with Mr. Mondher Al-Kaabi, an engineering expert, discussing the importance of inspection and calibration for medical devices. He emphasized the need for a national program to ensure regular audits and protect patients and Iraqi citizens from the side effects of medical devices and technology.

The discussions and contributions resulted in several recommendations, including continued support for training and education programs in healthcare quality. Furthermore, there was an emphasis on involving patients in treatment programs to ensure human-centered healthcare. Lastly, the adoption of calibration and auditing programs for medical devices by Iraqi healthcare institutions was recommended, along with the launch of a national program to highlight the significance and risks associated with medical equipment in the lives of Iraqi citizens.
